About Our Family
Happy Trails isn't a hotel chain or a rental company. It's a family property in a place we love, run by people who genuinely want you to have the best possible experience in Southern Utah.

The People Behind Happy Trails
Our family is proud to call Bryce Canyon country home. We run Happy Trails with the kind of care, local knowledge, and warm welcome we would want for our own family when traveling.
A Property With History
The original structure at Happy Trails dates back to the 1930s. When the family established it as Tropic's first true Bed & Breakfast in 1990, they were building on a foundation that had already welcomed people to Southern Utah for generations.
Grandma and Grandpa helped shape the warm, personal hospitality guests still experience today—from homemade breakfasts to sharing the places they loved most around Bryce Canyon.
Since then, the Happy Trails family has grown to include four distinct properties—the original B&B, Happy Trails West Inn, Bryce Canyon Log Cabins, and Ponderosa Inn—each with its own character but all sharing the same commitment to genuine hospitality.

Why We Love It Here
A few things about Southern Utah that never get old—no matter how long you live here.
Grandma's Pancakes
The 7-Up pancakes with homemade apple cider syrup have been a Happy Trails tradition for decades. It's the breakfast guests talk about for years after they leave.
Sunrise at Inspiration Point
Watching the hoodoos light up at first light is something that never gets old—no matter how many times you've seen it.
Dark Sky Nights
Southern Utah has some of the darkest skies in the country. On a clear night, the Milky Way is so bright it casts shadows.
Back Roads & Side Canyons
The well-known parks are incredible, but the quiet dirt roads and hidden canyons around Tropic and Escalante are where the real Southern Utah magic lives.
